We are called to do the ridiculous while God provides the miraculous. Stop in for some "R & R" Revelation and Response and experience a real encounter with God. Pastor Benedict
Come to our movie, munchie, and mingle meeting LGBTQISA++ Social Group this Thursday July 18, 6:30 to 8:00pm. The movie this week is Prayers For Bobby. In this adaptation of a true story, devout Christian Mary Griffith (Sigourney Weaver) fights to "cure" her gay son, Bobby (Ryan Kelley). Although he tries to please his mother, Bobby cannot change his lifestyle, and his depression leads to suicide. Mary questions her faith and searches for comfort, but after the church is unable to help her cope with Bobby's death, she seeks to understand her opinions on homosexuality for herself. Eventually, Mary becomes an advocate for gay rights. For more information CLICK HERE.

+ Ray Of Hope Church Of Our Lord Jesus Christ is Christ-centered in all of its teachings, and therefore does not ascribe to the dogmas, teachings, or practices of any denomination, or para-church organization of the Christian Church. Rather, we maintain an autonomous freedom to draw from the two millennia of immense riches known in all denominations of Christianity. Ray Of Hope Church Of Our Lord Jesus Christ is an "independent" local Church. This does not mean we stand alone, as though on pride or arrogance, rather we seek to share an interdependence with other assemblies and fellowships of believers who endeavor equally as hard as we do to bring the Gospel to all people.

8 Jesus humbled himself,
becoming obedient to death,
even death on a cross.
9 Because of this, God highly exalted him
and bestowed on him
the Name above every other name,
10 So that at the name of Jesus
every knee must bend,
in the heavens, on the earth,
and under the earth,
11 and every tongue proclaim
to the glory of God:
JESUS CHRIST IS LORD.

Join us, Tuesday July 16, 2019 for our Bible Enrichment Session - We are continuing our study of the book of 1 and 2 Samuel - the story of transition from judges to kings, and specifically the story of the rise of King David. God used the love between David the shepherd boy and Prince Jonathan to bring David to be King. David was anointed by Samuel when he was a child, and this confirms God planned this love between David and Jonathan as a central piece of the plan. This love also confirms God's plan for the tremendous spectrum of sexual orientations. You may start the study with us anytime, do come. This is the Bible Study for the LGBTQISA++ COMMUNITY.
It is our Holy Book. God's Word is intended to bless us and help us celebrate who we are. For more information CLICK HERE.

God doesn't condemn LGBTQIS+ persons, only churches do that! The Bible does not condemn us, only churches do that! Christ doesn't condemn us, churches do that. There is a difference, unfortunately.

".....I know that justice is indivisible. Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., 1967.
We are a church not because of what we do, but simply because we are here together. ~Br. Benedict
Christ died for everyone so that today, in 2019 we who live might no longer live for ourselves but for Him who died for us and was raised from the dead by God. This resurrection conquered the power of death forever. Now we no longer live to ourselves, nor do we die to ourselves. "For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord's." In fact "Christ is the Lord of both the living and the dead." We are under the authority of the Love of Christ. Nothing can separate us from the Love of God made known to us in Christ Jesus our Lord and Saviour.(see 2 Cor. 5:14,15; Romans 1:4; 14:7-9; 8:39)

New York State Passed Historic Transgender Anti-Discrimination Law S1047 the Gender Expression Non-Discrimination Act (GENDA) on January 10, 2019, which adds gender identity as a protected class in housing, employment, and public accommodations. Quote: "Most states don't explicitly ban anti-LGBTQ discrimination. Under federal and most states' laws, LGBTQ people aren't explicitly protected from discrimination in the workplace, housing, or public accommodations (like restaurants, hotels, and other places that serve the public).
So someone can be fired from a job, evicted from a home, or kicked out of a business just because an employer, landlord, or business owner doesn't approve of the person's sexual orientation or gender identity."

June is Pride Month. This June we marked the 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall Riots. The Stonewall event sparked our world-wide movement to tell the truth that God has created and sustained all of us with the full spectrum of sexual orientations and gender expressions. Ray Of Hope Church stands dedicated to this truth. Would you join us in this proclamation this Pride Month? This is the perfect time to become active in Ray Of Hope Church. Read sermons that were written about the Rainbow Flag here at Ray Of Hope Church here: The Rainbow Is God's Gift To Our Community CLICK HERE. Also here in a sermon for March 12, 2000 CLICK HERE.
We also recommend two documentary videos that tell much of the story of the Stonewall Riots. Click on the pictures below and you will be taken to external links for the videos.
Gilbert Baker Designer of the Rainbow Flag in a display in 2003. "I was twenty-seven. I loved to sew and imagined myself an artist. The idea for the Rainbow Flag had come to me in a dance to a tribal beat, on the wings of angels. Infused with the colors of God's covenant with humanity, the Rainbow Flag was more than mere cloth; it was a visual metaphor and an active proclamation of power, created and dedicated to gay and lesbian liberation. It declared that sexuality is a beautiful expression of nature, a human right." (page 1 from the new book: Rainbow Warrior My Life In Color by Gilbert Baker www.gilbertbaker.com)
There were hundreds of moments imprinted in me that will stay with me from Stonewall 50. Perhaps the one that took my breath away was when an honor guard turned the corner in perfect formation, stopped. Stood and presented arms before moving forward. Then I realized it was the New York City Police Department Marching Band with ranks and ranks and ranks of marching officers of every rank and even cadets. They carried the Pride Flag in the Honor Guard, and even the Transgender Flag. The emotions I experienced were very strong. Here was the police department that formed the phalanx formation completely across the same street with riot shields and batons banging on the shields as they marched into crowds before the Stonewall Inn 50 years ago marching in perfect formation down the same street again, this time in honor and respect. This time they marched down the same street carrying the Rainbow Flag and playing "When The Saints Go Marching In." I am so grateful that I lived to see this. As long as I am able to remember, I hope I remember this, and I give God thanks and praise that the light went out from Christ Bearer the carrier of Christ (this is what Christopher means) Street, from the Stonewall Inn - for Christ is the stone rejected by the builders and has become the chief cornerstone upon which the whole building is built (Psalm 118:22, Matthew 21:42, Acts 4:11, 1Peter 2:7) None of this was an accident of time and place. The Rock of our Salvation (1 Corinthians 10:4). And if you want to see that the Rainbow is God's own insignia given to the LGBTQIAS+++ Community read on here: ( http://www.rayofhopechurch.com/rainflag.htm ). Attending the Pride March at Stonewall 50 and specifically seeing the NYC Police Department carrying the Pride and Transgender flags in the Honor Guard was one of the highlight experiences of my entire life. I am so grateful I was able to be there. The pictures below are from this YouTube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zhq5Z4DL5gc at 0:28/30:31 posted by Kin Tsui.
